Oh, and hugs.
Well, everyone gets those. And they’re free. It’s why Tim’s Place in Albuquerque, N.M., can claim to be “the world’s friendliest restaurant.”
“I am a lean, mean hugging machine,” says Tim Harris, who has Down Syndrome and greets everyone who walks into his restaurant with a warm embrace.
Jerome Lejeune, the French geneticist who discovered in 1958 that Down syndrome was caused by an extra copy of the 21st chromosome and devoted his life to fighting abortion, treated his patients as if each one was Christ. But today, more and more tests that are able to more accurately predict the birth of a genetically-deformed child earlier and earlier in pregnancy are leading to a greater use of abortion.
