You would not expect finding a typically Mexican image in the quintessential Irish cathedral of New York City. The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that arrived at St. Patrick’s Cathedral back in 2008 is a replica of the revered image kept at the Mexico City basilica. The revered image left Mexico City in October 2008 and was brought by vehicle across the border and across the country all the way into New York, followed by pilgrims on foot and in cars. The trip took her two months.
