The Original Divine Mercy Image
The original Divine Mercy image of Christ, revealed to Sister Faustina and painted by Eugeniusz Kazimirowski in 1934, is not in Poland, as one might guess. Rather, it can be found in the Church of the Divine Mercy Sanctuary in Vilnius, Lithuania, where Sr. Faustina spent most of her time and wrote her diary. The iconic painting, featuring a white-robed Jesus, with rays of white and red pouring out of his heart, will be temporarily removed from the church and displayed on on the stage with Pope Francis when he greets a crowd of young people at Cathedral Square.
