Maundy Thursday
This name is popular in the UK and stems from the word Mandatum, meaning "commandment." It's one of the first words used in the washing of the feet, as seen in John: 13, 34: "A new commandment I give you." The actual term for the washing of the feet therefore became mandatum, and from there, Maundy.
