A brief moment of surprise today in Iquique, Chile, as Pope Francis was greeting the faithful from the popemobile.

The video is in Spanish, but it is very clear what is happening.

A horse-mounted police woman, Ana Belén Aguilera Casas, was at the rail where the faithful were lined up waiting for the pope to pass. As the popemobile approached and the faithful began screaming in excitement, the horse was spooked and jumped.

Aguilera Casas was thrown from the horse and hit the popemobile.

Pope Francis directed his driver to stop, got down from the vehicle and walked the few yards back to check on the policewoman. Other public servants were attending her and an ambulance approached as the pope was there. The horse was led away. According to reports, Aguilera Casas did not sustain any grave injuries.
