Some inspired fun over is going on over at Twitter, where “habited hipster” Sr. Brittany Harrison, FMA (Salesian Sisters, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians) is giving up some nun-trivia for the entertainment, edification. and education of the Catholic masses — small m.
Sister Brittany made her Twitter followers an offer they could not refuse:

There is a very good chance that Sister did not quite anticipate the sizeable response she has received, but she’s clearly game for the challenge, and she’s having a great time supplying information with the help of some wry gif visuals:

Ah, yes, Aleteia just talked to some nuns about that counter-cultural aspect!

It’s all in good fun, but some might find some surprising information in there, like this:

If you have some time to kill, go check out the thread, and make sure to follow Sister Brittany (and the numerous other sisters and nuns who populate Twitter and fill it with cartoons, humor, and thoughtful good things)!
We’re always hearing people ask “where are the new vocations coming from?” The truth is, if you know a young woman who you think would be a great nun, sharing this thread (or this post) might be a very good way to introduce the idea to someone. I’ve heard more than one vocation story that began with, “I never thought about a religious vocation until someone said they thought I’d make a good nun!”
And as Sister Brittany says:
