Aquinas makes it sound so easy, doesn’t he?

Elizabeth Scalia - published on 04/03/17

There are four remedies against the fear of divine judgement. The first is good deeds. … The second is confession and repentance of the evil done — and this should include three conditions: sorrow of heart, shame in confession, and rigor of satisfaction. These atone for eternal punishment. The third is almsdeeds, which cleanse us from all stains. … The fourth is charity, namely the love of God and of our neighbor. — Thomas Aquinas

Good deeds, confession and repentence, almsdeeds and charity.

I’ll get right on that…
