This March 7 marks three weeks since Pope Francis was admitted to the hospital.
While the Vatican said that there would be fewer updates — since the last several have confirmed ongoing stable status — this Friday morning, there was a statement:
“The Pope had a restful night and woke up shortly after 8:00.”

A brief audio message played before the 9 pm Rosary in St. Peter’s on March 6 gave the faithful their first interaction with the Holy Father in these three weeks, not counting a handful of his texts that have been released.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health from the Square, I accompany you from here. May God bless you and the Virgin protect you. Thank you.”
The Pope’s brief message, said in Spanish and revealing his ongoing weakness and shortness of breath, brought smiles and applause, even if it also confirmed how sick he is.
