People don’t often associate religious sisters with fun and games. However, a group of Salesian sisters seem to be on a mission to show the world how faith and joy go hand-in-hand.
As a community, the Salesians count the largest number of women religious around the world, with an impressive 10,500 sisters. And as their website explains, the congregation, founded by St. John Bosco and St. Mary Mazzarello are “dedicated to evangelizing young people through reason, religion and loving kindness.”
Well this mission seems successful in one of the latest social media posts from the sisters — although when you scroll through their Instagram account, you can see the sisters have a habit of spreading a lot of joy and laughter in their work.

In their Catholic speed trivia the sisters show their impressive knowledge of their Catholic faith — however, the spelling of one of the sisters is delightfully dubious! And as the sisters have to face some tough questions about their religion, you can see how both the Holy Spirit and a competitive spirit are hard at work.
While the Catholic speed trivia is a great idea for large gatherings of like-minded friends and family, don’t be too disheartened if you’re not quite up to the Salesian sisters’ standards, or if in fact you lose. Of course, when we tried it among our Aleteia team members, a certain writer — cough, cough — was a clear winner!
