They say dogs are faithful animals but a delightful video on X — formally twitter — takes this meaning to a whole new level. In fact the very pious pet refuses to eat unless he’s prayed with his owner first.

In the clip below, the black Labrador named Buddy Buckland is told he can go and eat. Buddy heads towards his bowl but will categorically not eat a morsel of his snack until he and his owner have prayed.

While his owner Haley Buckland encourages him to eat his food the dog is steadfast in his routine. He wants to pray before eating.

Haley finally relents and holds out her foot so her four-legged friend can place his paw on it and then she can pray. Afterwards Buddy heads to his bowl to eat.

Unsurprisingly the video has notched up an impressive 3.9 million likes and has garnered a number of positive comments, too. In fact one person pointed out: “They say all Dogs go to heaven, so he making sure his spot secured.”

Buddy now has his own page on X where his bio encourages his fans to “Let’s pray and have fun together!🙏” It’s certainly an account worth following with any dog-loving children who might take inspiration from his faith-filled attitude.
