The pontiff invited the faithful once again not to forget “our Ukrainian brothers and sisters,” who “suffer so much from the war.”
“This Christmas at war, without light, without heat,” he lamented. “They are suffering so much,” the Pope repeated, pleading, “Please, let’s not forget them.”
Evoking the Virgin Mary who carries the child in the manger, on the last day of the liturgical season of Christmas, the Pope had a thought for the “mothers of the victims of the war, of the soldiers who have died in this war in Ukraine.”
“Ukrainian moms and Russian moms, on both sides they have lost their children. This is the price of war,” Pope Francis denounced.
