The mall's effort to be inclusive earned high praise, and the sweet Santa video quickly went viral.

Christmas Day may have passed, but the Christmas season continues, and it’s a good time to look back at special moments that we and others have experienced during the holidays.

One such moment that went viral on social media brings to mind a scene from the 1994 version of Miracle on 34th Street, when Santa speaks in sign language to a girl who is deaf. This new video, however, is much more impactful because it’s real and the joy and connection we see on screen is totally unfeigned.

The Santa Claus in question was located at a shopping center in Brasilia, and he gave a wonderful surprise to a boy with hearing impairment who had been brought to see him. The boy’s teacher filmed the boy’s emotional and happy reaction when he met, for the first time, a Santa Claus who could talk in Libras, Brazilian sign language.

This touching video has already had more than 1.6 million views. In another video clip of the same event, the good Santa gave the boy a very important message:

Merry Christmas! May God pour blessings on your life and the life of your family… May you be strong, powerful, and capable. You can grow and evolve … It’s possible, perfect! Study little and do simple things? No! Try to outdo yourself. Reach for the highest target. You are capable! You are intelligent, OK?

The mall’s effort to be inclusive with Santa was highly praised by the teacher’s followers, who let their excitement show after watching the video. “How incredible is this exchange of love and care. It’s the joy of true inclusion,” posted one follower. “I’m crying with emotion,” wrote another user.
