In an interview with Way Nation, Nichole explained that when she initially recorded the clip of “In Jesus’ Name,” she never really expected it to become as big as it became (the song stood at the top of Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs for the majority of 2022):
“Well, I recorded like a little clip of it right after I wrote it. So a week later I posted it to TikTok.
“The crazy thing was that I’m recording a couple videos as content for the week and specifically ‘In Jesus’ Name’ right before I posted it, I prayed over the video. I just said, ‘God, do with this what you’re going to do.’ I know that this feels like my story, but if it’s only one person who feels like it’s their story, that’s the only person I was supposed to reach.
“And the funny thing is, I left it for like 4 hours and I came back to a million views. I mean, that’s that’s insane. Insane and completely not what my intentions were.”
