Almighty and Eternal God,
You are the everlasting health
of those who believe in You.

As you surely already know, Pope Francis asked on Wednesday for a “special prayer” for his 95-year-old predecessor, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI.

“I would like to ask you all for a special prayer for Pope Emeritus Benedict, who in silence is supporting the Church. Remember him – he is very ill – asking the Lord to console him, and sustain him in this witness of love for the Church, until the end.”

Members of the Aleteia community can turn to our prayer network of 550 monasteries to entrust to them our intentions. Today this network turns to us to ask us to join the prayer of all the monks and nuns for Pope Benedict.

We can present to the Lord the prayer that the Holy See has distributed through social networks:

Let us pray.
Almighty and Eternal God,
You are the everlasting health
of those who believe in You.

Hear our prayers for
your sick servant Benedict
for whom we implore the aid of Your tender mercy,

Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

~

As always, you can share your prayer requests with our network of 550 monasteries by filling out the simple form here: https://aleteia.org/prayer-intentions/

Please, in order to simplify the work of the monasteries, we ask you not to share your intentions by e-mail, but to do so using the form that has been made available.
