On December 18, actress Patricia Heaton managed to complete her target of reading the Bible in a year.
With the help of The Gospel Coalition, the mom of four read a couple of pages of the Bible every day. And, as she shared in her tweet, sometimes she had to do a little catch-up.
However, overall Heaton says the experience proved “revelatory.” Admittedly, she also explains that she found parts of it to be a bit of a “slog” — notably sections of the Old Testament. Still, she persevered and was thrilled to have finally read the entire Bible.
Interestingly, the devout Catholic also found herself writing all the different names for God throughout the Scriptures. In fact, that’s a task any of us can do, as we really get to see just how almighty He is.
Heaton was so inspired by the experience that she’s planning to start all over again in the New Year, and as with any good book, who knows what else she might discover the second time around!
