The Blessed Virgin has been honored over the centuries in countless ways: millions of babies have been named after her; she has appeared in so many artworks and sculptures; and of course, people have praised her in prayer and song. A recent Facebook post by a 10-year-old singer may be one of the most beautiful ways in which she has been honored yet.
Brinker, at her tender age, is actually a classical singer — a fact that has landed her the Guinness World Record title of youngest ever professional female opera singer. And if you listen to her with your eyes closed, her vocal talents seem to belie her young age.
However, in her uplifting post the singer stands at the front of an altar, a picture of innocence. She belts out an impassioned Ave Maria, with melodious velvety undertones that few adults could achieve.
The tween, one of 11 siblings, was adopted by Christine and Eric Brinker. Her talent was discovered before her sixth birthday, when she showed her mom her impressive vocal range. Brinker is actually able to reach an incredible three octaves and can sing in seven languages.
Her talent has been encouraged by her whole family, with her mom dedicating time for her daughter to practice each day:
“My mom taught me how to sing and helps me believe I can do anything. No matter what I want to do next, she finds a way to help me to do it. She is always cheering me on,” shared the songstress with Guinness World Records.
While her voice is enough to give you goosebumps, it’s also inspiring to see someone so young honor Mary with such passion. And it’s definitely something worth sharing with the youngsters in your life.
