Philip Kosloski - published on 10/12/22

Antonia Salzano Acutis has now published a book collecting memories of her son, Bl. Carlo Acutis.

During the past several years, the life of Italian teenager Bl. Carlo Acutis has captivated the world. Even though he died at the age of 15, his life has become a beacon of hope for many.

Carlo’s mother, Antonia Salzano Acutis, was also changed by the example of her son and she has recently written her first-hand account of his life in a new book.

According to Vatican News,  the book is called “Il segreto di mio figlio “ (“The Secret of My Son”) and is currently only available in Italian.

The synopsis, written by Antonia, explains why she wrote the book.

Many people ask me what is the secret hidden behind the figure of my son Carlo, who in a few years has been able to win the friendship and affection of a multitude of people who ask for his intercession in prayer. Why is a mere boy, who died at 15, invoked all over the world? Why did the Church proclaim him blessed?

Antonia then explains what her son provided during his short life.

Like a lighthouse on a dark night, he pierced and illuminated the darkness that held me prisoner and showed me a path in the key of eternity. The Infinite was his goal, not the finite. Jesus was the center of his life. These are the treasures I try to reveal here, Carlo’s treasures, his secret.

It is unknown if an English version of the book will be released at a later date, though she has given many interviews, such as this one published on Aleteia in 2021 and another exclusive to Aleteia today.
