An opera company from South Africa took to the skies and shared their heavenly voices for all to hear.

The Cape Town Opera company recently shared their gratitude for an airline’s generosity to a group of unsuspecting passengers.

The South African company recently took its performance of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro to Roodepoort Theater in Johannesburg, which is around 1,400 miles from the company’s base in Cape Town. And their flights to get them to Roodepoort were sponsored by LIFT, a South African airline that launched in 2020.

Describing the sponsorship as an “upLIFTment of African Artists,” the opera singers decided to share their thanks with fellow passengers as they headed to Johannesburg, according to Classic FM. First they sang into the intercom the well-known Brindisi (The Drinking Song) from Verdi’s opera, La Traviata.

Then, to the delight of the passengers, they did another rendition in the plane’s aisle. The uplifting song was videoed by nearly everybody on board, which didn’t seem to perturb the singers.

While the opera singers’ performance was unexpected, it was a wonderful way for them to share their God-given talents in an act of gratitude.
