Actor and pro wrestler John Cena has hit the headlines for an impressive world record. In an effort that has been described as “Herculean” by the Guinness World Records (GWR), Cena has managed to grant a staggering 650 wishes to children who are gravely ill or dying through the Make-A Wish foundation.

The foundation offers these children an opportunity to meet a celebrity, go to an event, or even present a gift to someone else. Yet, lots of kids just want to meet their sports hero, Cena.

On July 19, when the GWR totaled the number of wishes Cena had made come true to kids from 2-18 years of age, he far surpassed others who’d made around 200 wishes come true.

And the star’s attitude is totally inspiring, In an extract from Reuters shared by the GWR, he stated:

“If you ever need me for this ever, I don’t care what I’m doing – I will drop what I’m doing and be involved because I think that’s the coolest thing. I just drop everything … If I can offer a fantastic experience, I’ll be first in line to do my part.”

Cena started helping the foundation 20 years ago, and in that time he’s offered kids the opportunity to see his impressive championship belts. He’s also more than happy to take photos, and sometimes even takes the kids into the wrestling ring, according to GWR.

Although he’s a 13-time WWE top champion, this record must be Cena’s crowning glory. But it shouldn’t really come as a surprise, as the 45-year-old headed the WWE’s anti-bullying initiative that encourages kids to “Be a Star.”

Hopefully, Cena, who was raised a Catholic, will continue to make kids’ dreams come true, and shine a light on the work of this foundation that is devoted to caring for children in their hour of need.
