Jeffrey Bruno’s photos have been lighting up Catholic media and online platforms since he took up a camera and began telling visual stories about what it means to live with faith in the real world.
When independent film maker Michael Hogan asked to join Bruno for a shoot of the Solemn Profession of the Sisters of Life in New York City last year, and then expressed his desire to to a mini-documentary about him, Bruno was surprised.
“When he mentioned that he wanted to do a mini-documentary about me, I was initially taken aback, but it was an opportunity,” writes Bruno, a convert to the Catholic faith, on Facebook. “[It was] An opportunity to evangelize, not only in the traditional sense but in the vocational sense.”
Bruno says he frequently gets messages from people who want to do what he does but don’t know where to start.
“I pray that his film helps,” he writes. “Because the truth is that I’m only one man, and there needs to be an army.”
