While many know the Lord’s Prayer by heart, not all know where in the Bible the Our Father prayer is located.
The Bible verses that contain the Our Father prayer are in the gospels of Matthew and Luke.
Both versions of the Our Father are similar, though differ slightly depending on the translation.
Our Father in heaven,
Matthew 6:9-13 (NAB-RE)
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread;
and forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors;
and do not subject us to the final test,
but deliver us from the evil one.
Father, hallowed be your name,
Luke 11:2-4 (NAB-RE)
your kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread
and forgive us our sins
for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us,
and do not subject us to the final test.
