The Glory Be prayer is one of the shortest prayers, offering praise and glory to the Holy Trinity.

One of the most frequently used prayers in the Catholic Church is the Glory Be prayer, otherwise known as a doxology (prayer of praise to the Trinity). It is found in the Rosary, Liturgy of the Hours and nearly every other public prayer.

Here are the traditional words of the Glory Be prayer, followed by the translation now used in official liturgical texts.

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

Glory to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and will be for ever.
Amen.
