Ask Mary to be with you in your loneliness and be a light in the darkness.

When we are feeling lonely, it can be tempting to think that we are truly alone, with no one to support us.

While we may not always have the support of our friends or family, we always have the support of God and of his Blessed Mother.

Here is a prayer from Pope Benedict XVI in 2010 that asks for Mary’s presence to provide for us comfort in our loneliness.

Mother for all time,
do not tire of “visiting us,”
consoling us, sustaining us.

Let your presence cause new blooms to burst forth
in the desert of our loneliness,
let it cause the sun to shine on our darkness,
let it restore calm after the tempest,
so that all mankind shall see the salvation
of the Lord,
who has the name and the face of Jesus,
who is reflected in our hearts,
for ever united to yours!
