The relic of Bl. Carlo Acutis's heart will be in New York from April 3-8, and then will remain in the United States for the Eucharistic Revival.

Bl. Carlo Acutis, better known as the “computer geek saint,” has become one of the most popular modern saints in the Catholic Church. His life is inspiring many young people across the world, and his devotion to the Eucharist will be a main focus for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as they launch their Eucharistic Revival.

As a prelude to this revival, the USCCB asked for a relic of Bl. Carlo Acutis to make a short tour of the United States.

A press release from the Diocese of Assisi explains the reasons for this special trip.

Responding to the request of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops and coinciding with the exhibit in New York of the “Museum of Memory, Assisi 1943-1944,” Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino, Bishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino and of Foligno, will bring a First Class relic of Carlo Acutis, the first millennial in the world to be declared a Blessed. The relic of this youth is a fragment of the pericardium, the membrane that surrounded and protected his heart, and will accompany the three year National Eucharistic Revival, announced by the US Bishops last November, to renew faith and rekindle belief in the value and real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.

The basic itinerary of this special visit will include the following:

  • Mass in the Diocese of Rockville Center for 2,400 students at St. Anthony’s High School, South Huntington
  • Diocesan Youth and Young Adult Holy Hour at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Astoria
  • High school rally at Holy Family church, Flushing
  • Mass at Saint Rita’s church, Bronx, in the Archdiocese of New York, celebrated by Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York.

During the final Mass, the relic will be handed off to the USCCB and will remain in the United States.

It is not stated when or where the relic will travel around the United States after New York.
