In 1917, Our Lady appeared to three children near Fatima, Portugal and specifically asked them for Russia to be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart.
To prevent [another World War], I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the first Saturdays.
This consecration of Russia happened on four separate times, and will happen again on March 25, 2022 with Pope Francis.
1October 31, 1942
In the midst of World War II, Pope Pius XII consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart of Marythrough a radio message on the eve of All Saints Day.
This message was sent to Portugal and included the local bishops.
2July 7, 1952
On the feast of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, “Apostles to the Slavs,” Pope Pius XII issued an apostolic letter directed to the Russian people, entrusting Russia and her people to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
3November 21, 1964
At the conclusion of the third Session of the Second Vatican Council, Pope Paul VI, along with all the bishops present, renewed the consecration of the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, sending a Golden Rose to Fatima to commemorate the occasion.
4March 25, 1984
In St. Peter’s Basilica in 1984, Pope John Paul II consecrated the whole world in front of the statue of Our Lady of Fatima, inviting all other bishops to join him in prayer, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
According to the Vatican, Sr. Lucia confirmed that this consecration fulfilled the wishes of Our Lady of Fatima.
Sister Lucia personally confirmed that this solemn and universal act of consecration corresponded to what Our Lady wished («Sim, està feita, tal como Nossa Senhora a pediu, desde o dia 25 de Março de 1984»: «Yes it has been done just as Our Lady asked, on 25 March 1984»: Letter of 8 November 1989). Hence any further discussion or request is without basis.
