During Lent, many of us give up watching our favorite programs. Whether they’re on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, or network TV, we often use shows as a way to relax or distract ourselves from the responsibilities and tasks of everyday life.
So when Lent rolls around it can seem like a good sacrifice to make … until a few days go by and you realize that watching something is a habitual and helpful part of your pre-bedtime routine, or that it’s an important way you and your spouse spend time together after the kids are in bed.
One great option that’s come along just in time for Lent is the latest round of OSV Talks from the the OSV Institute for Catholic Innovation. These 22 short (15-20 min long) inspiring and informational talks by Catholic leaders may be the perfect way to wind down while using that time to grow in faith and contemplate more spiritual matters.
So here’s handful of selections to help you plan your Lenten evenings — and there are plenty more to choose from if you visit the OSV Talks site:
From Marvel to Disney: What Christians Can Learn About Storytelling – Dr. Richard Ludwick
Fitness to Holiness: Strengthening Body & Soul – Samantha Kelley
Listen, Pray and Fast: Healing the Racial Divide – Fr. Joshua Johnson
Faith and the Luxury of Food – Miriam Hidalgo
Why Christians Lose on Purpose – Leonard DeLorenzo
Happy watching!
