Ask God for protection and deliverance from enemies who are attacking you or someone else.

In addition to praying for peace, it is perfectly appropriate to pray for protection and deliverance from our enemies. Many biblical characters prayed for deliverance, asking God to drive away their enemies, praying that their lives may be spared.

Here is a prayer adapted from the St. Andrew Daily Missal, invoking God’s protection from any type of opposing force.

Look down, O God, our protector,
and defend us from the perils of our enemies;
that all trouble being removed,
we may serve you in peace.
May we be delivered from the snares of our enemies
and protected by your saving help.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
