Immerse yourself in scripture with the Audio Bible Super Production

After years of production and contests to find voice actors, The Audio Bible Super Production is up and running. The work features groundbreaking use of 3D sound to allow an altogether unique immersive biblical experience. The Audio Bible Super Production is a one-of-a-kind ecumenical project that is making the Bible more theatrical. Produced by Polish actor and director Krzysztof Czeczot, the work was originally completed in the Polish language. Their unfettered success led them to produce the English version, which was released on January 31, 2022. 

Czeczot described the work to Aleteia: 

“As a filmmaker, audio producer, and director, I want the Audio Bible to feel like a cinematic audio experience,” he told Aleteia. “When you close your eyes, you should be in the middle of the story, because the word has power, but also, the word has a space.”

To achieve this, Czeczot teamed with the legendary Formosa studio. This studio has been responsible for sound in hit movies such as The Revenant and Mad Max. They have gone above and beyond to recreate the soundscape of the world as it was during the time of Christ. 

In this audio Bible, the listener will feel like they are present for all the biggest moments of the scriptures. The 3D sound is unlike mono or stereo, because all the elements are moving around the listener. If the biblical narrative is in a town, one may hear shoppers haggling, or horses trotting down the streets. If there is a tumultuous storm, the rain is practically felt. 

It took 150 professional voice actors, supported by an additional 100 contest winners, to voice the entire Bible. These include 30 A-list Hollywood actors who participated in the recordings. In total, the website boasts 110 hours of recordings to complete the Old and New Testaments. 

On the app, users can conveniently sift through the Bible, starting from any book they choose. The app makes it easy to keep track of your favorite biblical moments by marking your favorite books and chapters. Individual books can be downloaded to make on-the-go listening easy, even if you’re off-line or in a dead zone. 

The Audio Bible Super Production was a massive endeavor, and thus they cannot give it away for free. Still, subscriptions to the app are affordable, with the baseline set at just $2.99 per month. This package limits listeners to 30 minutes a day, which is perfect for getting your daily readings. Their premium package priced at $9.99 offers unlimited listening.
