Catholics are always encouraged to pray for the Holy Father, frequently using their prayers to intercede for the current pope.
Being the pope is not an easy vocation, and it comes with many spiritual assaults from Satan, who is bent on destroying the Catholic Church.
Here is a prayer for the pope adapted from the 19th-century book entitled The Catholic Prayer Book and Manual of Meditations.
O God, bless, sanctify and protect the pope,
your representative on earth.
Give him prudence, perseverance, humility and patience;
Inflame his heart with that ardent zeal which consumed your holy apostles;
Render his life as holy as the law he inculcates;
Make him according to your own divine heart
and let his light so shine before men, that they seeing his good works,
may glorify their Father who is in heaven.
