Follow the French: dine out in this unique way on Valentine’s Day

Dust off your wedding dress and join in this fun French idea!

Paris is known for being a city of romance. And true to its reputation, a chain of the city’s restaurants will offer a free meal from a select menu to those who dine out on Valentine’s Day in their wedding attire.

The restaurants in the Bistrots Pas parisiens group have specified that even people going to the restaurant alone, but still donning a wedding outfit, will receive their meals for free.

While it might seem a little trivial fun — and people can easily benefit from the offer by rocking up in their mother’s wedding dress — what’s lovely about the idea is that it puts love and marriage in the spotlight.

In a society where the number of weddings is consistently decreasing every year, it’s wonderful to see that on this one special day devoted to romantic love, the sacrament of marriage is celebrated. We just hope the white gowns don’t get covered in red wine or tomato sauce!

If you want to add a touch of romance to your relationship this year, why not dress up in your wedding finery, eat a meal together, and reminisce about your Big Day? This is especially great if you’re stuck at home with your kids. (Perhaps you could employ them as wait staff!)
