Catholic prayer for an increase in charity

Ask the Holy Spirit to increase your charity and fill your heart with the sweetness of his grace.

The Gospels challenge us to be more charitable, but that is often more easily said than done. We want to be more loving and caring towards others, but fall short in our words or actions.

Here is a prayer adapted from the St. Andrew Daily Missal asking the Holy Spirit for an increase in charity.

May the grace of the Holy Spirit,
we ask you, O Lord, enlighten our hearts,
and refresh them abundantly
with the sweetness of perfect charity.
Give to our hearts an abiding love for you,
and grant us the gift of charity.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
