Perhaps many of us have felt that we are expected to be superheroes – to carry so many responsibilities and stresses, and to do it all with grace and a smile. But have we stopped to consider if we are sometimes guilty of putting those same unfair expectations on others? Perhaps on our priests?
Even priests need our prayers — undoubtedly more than others, given that Satan has special disdain for their ministry.
In Brazil, after another case of a priest committing suicide, two priests have shared their thoughts online.
Let these personal thoughts be an invitation for prayer:
Priests are men, with weaknesses and limitations, who have given their lives for love of God, of the Church and of their brothers and sisters. They suffer, cry, and get sick…
Let’s pray, love and care for our priests!

Help us carry the cross
Those who see us smiling, praying, preaching, or helping, don’t know the struggles we face every day.
Don’t see us only like Christ in glory, because most of the time we’re wounded, injured, bloodied and full of sorrows.
For love of God, help us! Help us to carry the cross on the arduous ascent to Calvary.
WE AREN’T SUPERHEROES. We’re the least among men, whom He has chosen to serve Him. PRAY FOR US INCESSANTLY, AND WHEN WE FALL HELP US: PRAY MORE.
