Football star Tim Tebow has left his position as a tight end at the Jaguars after one pre-season match. Although his stint with the Florida-based team was short-lived, the experimental shift in position was definitely a worthy lesson for Tebow, and all of us.
The devout Christian is not afraid to make changes in his life. When his football career seemingly came to an end in 2016, he returned to another passion of his — baseball. He joined the minor league, playing for the New York Mets, until he retired from the sport this year. That’s when he decided to give football another go.
However, while his sporting future is now uncertain, Tebow is probably hanging up his football cleats for good. As his coach Urban Meyers points out: “Obviously, he’s his own man … elite warrior, elite competitor, but he’s also 34 years old,” as reported in the New York Post.
But while we wait to see what path Tebow takes next, his message after parting from the Jaguars is a reminder that it’s important to follow your dreams, and to not be afraid of failure because it helps us grow and become who we are meant to be.
