The envelope was sent from France and discovered near Milan.

Police are investigating an envelope addressed to Pope Francis and containing three 9-mm pistol bullets.

Post office workers in Peschiera Borromeo, in northern Italy near Milan, called the police when they discovered the envelope.

The envelope was sent from France and addressed to The Pope, Vatican City, St. Peter’s Square.

This is a developing story.
