The retired sprinter acknowledged the challenges of raising kids.

With the Olympics in full swing, spectators have been marveling at the extraordinary strength and determination of the world’s best athletes. With records being smashed, these Olympians seem almost super-human.

Recently, however, Usain Bolt revealed to People how challenging fatherhood is compared to his training to become the fastest man on earth.

“[It’s harder] being a father of three, of all of them, especially when they’re crying. It’s great, but everybody’s crying. It’s pandemonium in the house,” shared the retired sprinter.

Considering Bolt welcomed his daughter, Olympia Lightning, in May 2020, and then newborn twins Saint Leo and Thunder this past July, just 13 months later, it’s not a surprise that his hands are full.

“It’s a lot more time consuming, but I enjoy it. It’s always a challenge, and now I’ve had help from my parents and my significant other’s parents also. So, it’s not as crazy, but I’m enjoying it …” he explained to People.

Yet his comments will be reassuring to parents everywhere who often struggle with the challenges of parenthood, and can even feel like they’re failing. If the fastest man alive finds being a dad tougher than being an Olympian, then it’s pretty normal we’re exhausted!
