Being in self-isolation is extremely frustrating, so when the enforced hotel quarantine ended for a group of 200 seasonal workers from Samoa, they decided to raise their voices in praise to God.

The workers, who landed in the Tasmanian capital of Hobart a fortnight ago, are now readying themselves for some hard work on farms throughout the country. In gratitude for being able to get out and work, they went out on to their balconies at the Best Western Hotel to sing the Christian hymn “How Great is Our God,” by Chris Tomlin, in their native language.

Such positivity was welcomed by all those who heard the uplifting rendition. Many have commented about the Samoans’ attitude: “Lovely people who are willing to go into quarantine without whining and go to work on the farms so that we can have fresh food and fruit on our tables,” shared one commenter.

A report in the Daily Mail shared that the workers have come to the Australian island state with support of the government to keep them COVID safe so they can carry out essential work.

“The hardworking group will gain skills while supporting their families and communities in Samoa,” shared Australia’s High Commissioner to Samoa, Emily Luck

The workers are a shining example to everyone around the world as they prepare to go out and start their work, with one thing on their mind, praising God.
