A grassroots effort to design a flag to unify the pro-life movement is underway. The Pro-Life Flag Project has selected six finalists, and the polls are open for public voting until July 19, 2021.
The Pro-Life Flag Project is organized by a group of self-described “everyday pro-lifers.” Now, they’ve sifted through all the prospective flags and have selected six finalists on which the public will vote.
On their official website, they explain the importance of a single flag to rally pro-lifers:
Just as the rainbow flag has raised awareness for and significantly contributed to the success of the LGBTQ movement … Flying or displaying the pro-life flag will be a means by which everyday pro-life supporters can stand in solidarity with the larger pro-life movement. People around the country and the world, regardless of their stance on abortion, will see the flag, know its meaning, and be compelled to think about the reality of abortion
They state that they did not want the flag to be designed in a vacuum. The open voting will ensure the flag represents the people behind the movement. They also do not want it to be difficult to use the flag once it is selected. To that end the winning flag will be freely-reproducible to ensure easy access to the new pro-life symbol. This offer is as available to individuals as it will be to pro-life non-profit organizations.

While we’re on the topic of pro-life non-profits, the Pro-Life Flag Movement has an impressive array of partners. They note that these organizations have never been solicited for any money.
