Pope Francis had another “calm day” at the Gemelli polyclinic in Rome and “gradually is resuming work,” announced Matteo Bruni, director of the Vatican press office on July 10. Hospitalized on July 4 for a scheduled colon surgery, the Pontiff continues his treatment following “the expected clinical course.”
Just as yesterday, the 266th Pope again is walking along the 10th floor corridor of the hospital and celebrated Mass in his private chapel. He also chose to dine with the nursing staff.
Seeing the “dedication of the medical and nursing staff who assist him,” Pope Francis addressed a special thought to all those who are involved in a personal relationship with the sick.
The Angelus prayer on Sunday, July 11, will be led from the hospital, but details have not been announced.
