The seven-week course will examine 'The Gift of Invitation: 7 Ways Jesus Invites You to a Life of Grace,' by Allison Gingras.

This summer Our Sunday Visitor is running a free online book study. The program, examining the book The Gift of Invitation: 7 Ways Jesus Invites You to a Life of Grace, starts on June 15, but there’s still time to sign up.

According to the event’s website, the book study will be led by author Allison Gingras. Gingras will help attendees discover the seven powerful invitations Jesus extends to each of us. Each session will explore a different invitation and how accepting them can change one’s life.

The course

The program consists of seven lessons, each lasting about 30 minutes. This makes it easy to fit into the hectic summer schedule with the kids at home. The lessons are broken down by chapter, with each focusing on another of Christ’s invitations. These invitations include: Come and See, Take His Yoke, Know the Gifts of God, Ask in His Name, Forgive from your Heart, Believe in Him, and Go and Make Disciples.

Attendees will get to hear from the author what it means to accept Jesus’ invitations, and how it leads to a more abundant life. Gingras will be present during the live webcast in order to engage with participants. Over the course of seven weeks, they will have their faith deepened with inspiring stories, reflections, Scripture study, and prompts for prayer. They will also be encouraged to keep a journal.

OSV has it set up so that those who sign up can watch live or at their leisure. This also means that anyone who signs up late can still view the whole series. Sessions will be held weekly, on Tuesdays from June 15 until July 27.
