Many people are drawn to Bradley Cooper for his acting style and baby blue eyes. However, there’s something refreshing about the actor that is actually far more impressive: his relationship with his mom.
While the actor has often been seen on the red carpet with his 80-year-old mom, Gloria Campano, by his side, the discreet star is not afraid to put his mom first and foremost.
Although Cooper has battled personal demons in the past, his parents have been his inspiration throughout his life. In fact, as reported in God Updates, he explained how the love he had for his father was instrumental in developing his faith.
“I grew up Roman Catholic … A lot of it had to do with loving my father and looking at him wear his tweed blazer to Mass. I loved the way he prayed, so I would pray like he would. Not for any other reason than I wanted to be like my father — I wanted to be like Charlie Cooper. But in so doing, through the ritual of it, I started to have faith in God. Am I a spiritual person today? Yes. I don’t know how I could not be. It’s like saying, ‘Do you breathe?'”
Sadly, Cooper’s father died in 2011, so the 46-year-old stepped up to care for and protect his mom, with the two virtually living together full time. And this has especially been the case through COVID.
With his mom growing older and more fragile, Cooper wanted to keep her safe. The best way to do this was to have her live with him. As he explained in Interview, “My mother is going to be 80 … so I can’t let anybody in the house. And I can’t leave the house, because if she gets it, it’s over.”
It’s unusual to hear such stories coming out of Hollywood, but this one is particularly heart-warming. Even if you’re not a fan of his movies or all his life choices, it’s great to see that fame and wealth has not stopped Cooper from loving and protecting his number one fan.
