It’s that time of year when churches are full of sweet kids in white dresses and little suits receiving their First Holy Communion. The day is special in so many ways, and it’s an occasion many kids will always remember. But as much fun as the outfits, cake, gifts, and parties are, they are only the “wrapping paper” on what truly matters, which is the incomparable gift of receiving Our Lord in the Eucharist.
