We turn our hearts to Our Lady, praying today for all those infected with coronavirus, and all the sick.

During the month of May, the Church around the world is joining in a daily Rosary for the intention of the end of the pandemic, as well as a specific intention related to the various victims of the virus.

Each day of the month, a different shrine will lead the daily Rosary, according to local practice.

The beginning and the end of the Rosary Marathon (May 1 and May 31) are led by Pope Francis.

See below to follow the list of the Shrines.

Day 3

Particular intention: For all those infected with coronavirus, and all the sick

Day 3 of the Rosary Marathon brings us to a much-loved shrine to Our Lady, Czestochowa in Poland.

The Polish people recognize the Virgin Mary not only as the queen of their hearts, but truly the queen of their nation.

Our Lady of Czestochowa “was crowned Queen and Protector of Poland by King John II Casimir in 1652 [followed by a] canonical coronation … by Clement XI on Sept. 8, 1717.”
