Pope Francis recently proclaimed, in the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” (“With a father’s heart”), this year to be devoted to St. Joseph. Therefore, in keeping with the devotion of Jesus’ earthly father, the name Joseph is a perfect choice for any boy born during this special year (from December 8, 2020 to December 8, 2021) — or beyond!
The name Joseph comes from the Hebrew Yosef, meaning “he will add.” While your little boy will certainly add a lot of joy to your life, you can always pair the name with another holy man whose devotion and faith to God will hopefully inspire your own son.
