Anxiety and stress have a tendency to heighten our crabbiness, making us more likely to strike out at others, whether it is online or in person.
However, that only escalates the situation, and will increase not only our own anxiety, but that of others. Tensions will continue to build, with no end in sight.
The Bible encourages us to think differently and to build each other up, instead of tearing each other down.
The following Bible verse should be our theme during any stressful time in our lives, especially when that stress affects people on a global level.
God did not destine us for wrath … Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up … cheer the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient with all. See that no one returns evil for evil; rather, always seek what is good [both] for each other and for all. (1 Thessalonians 5:9, 11, 14-15)
The more we cheer each other and support the weak, the less our stress will dictate our actions and the more peace we can bring into the world.
