Old Testament verses that picture God as the “Good Shepherd”

THE GOOD SHEPHARD

The New Testament wasn't the first time when God was seen as a loving shepherd, guiding his flock to safe pastures.

Jesus says in the Gospel of John, “I am the good shepherd” (John 10:11). This statement, while the most direct, is not the first time God was compared to a shepherd. Examples can be seen throughout the Old Testament.

Here are a few verses that highlight God’s role as shepherd over his people as revealed in the Old Testament.
