To help you live the message of Divine Mercy Sunday, take inspiration from these wise words.

Showing mercy to others, as well as to ourselves, isn’t always easy. We can be impatient and hard-hearted. Sometimes we judge others too harshly, and we may struggle with God’s mercy, too — both asking for it and receiving it. But we were given a great gift when the Church instituted Divine Mercy Sunday on the Sunday following Easter day. It is based on St. Faustina Kowalska’s encounters with Jesus and his request that a “feast of mercy” be established so that we would learn to take refuge in Him.

To help you reflect on the mercy we are all called to give and receive, click on the slideshow below to be inspired by saints, writers, popes, presidents — and Jesus Himself.
