Feeling rejected? Tackle it with this one verse from Scripture

At some time in our lives, we all face rejection. Whether it’s being turned down for a job, passed up on a sports team, or dismissed by someone we love, the end result is pretty much the same: we question our worth, our abilities, our choices. The experience can leave us feeling bruised, lonely, and vulnerable.

Scripture provides some great sources of comfort to get us through such tough times. In fact, there’s one Bible verse in particular that really hits home when it comes to experiencing rejection:

“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first” (John 15:18)

Not only is it powerful in its brevity, it puts everything we might be going through into perspective. Jesus faced constant misunderstanding, rejection, and hatred, yet He persevered and willingly gave His life for the very people who rejected him.

Jesus knew that His Heavenly Father knew and loved Him, and the same is true for us — no matter who we are or what we do, there is one person who will never reject us when we turn to Him and that is our Father in heaven. As Psalm 19:41 reminds us: “For the Lord will not forsake his people, nor abandon his inheritance.”

So if you’ve experienced rejection, remember you’re in good company — Jesus understands completely. And like He did, reach out to God the Father in prayer, trusting in His great love for you.
