On Ash Wednesday, three renowned photographers were welcomed to the Church of Our Saviour, located on Park Avenue in Manhattan, to photograph the Mass and imposition of ashes marking the start of Lent. Father Robert Robbins, pastor, graciously allowed the team to join with the parish community on this very solemn, prayerful day.
The photographers, Martin Jernberg, Michael Kearney, and Jeffrey Bruno, have diverse backgrounds and styles but all share a common bond: their faith. Jernberg is a travel/adventure photographer and videographer who has traveled the world. Kearney is an up-and-coming street and documentary photographer who has worked with Jernberg on many occasions. Bruno is a photojournalist who specializes in capturing the Catholic faith around the globe. See through their eyes what the experience of Ash Wednesday is like in the city of bright lights.
