Leo was “condemned to death.” He had just 6 months left to live—but he managed to stretch them out to 6 years instead. Faith, a positive outlook, courage, and tenacity are the qualities that allowed him to continue on, joyfully and without fear. As his motto said, “FULL SPEED AHEAD!” (“AVANTI TUTTA!”) He challenged himself and his own limitations, running the New York Marathon twice.
