Most Christians are not gifted with the chance to travel the Holy Land and see the sights of Christ’s birth, and so it is not always easy to understand where it is located and how many miles Joseph and Mary had to travel to reach Bethlehem.
As St. Luke narrates, “And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David” (Luke 2:4).
